Japanese National Found Dead in Bali

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: A female Japanese national found dead in Kuta beach area on Monday afternoon local time with signs of abuse found on her body.
The decomposing body of the 33 year-old tourist who was identified by police as Kasano, was found lying in a bush near Jalan Mertahadi at around 4 pm local time (+8GMT).
Police found some of her belongings near the half naked body including cell phone, shoes, cosmetics, under wear, and other stuff scattered around the body.
Chief of the Crime and Detective Unit of Bali Regional Police Senior Commissioner Wilmar Marpaung said police are yet to find out the cause and time of dead of the female tourist. Based on the report collected by the police from a staff at Hotel Prani in Legian, where the Japanese tourist stayed the female tourist went missing since Friday last week.
A hotel staff questioned by the police said the female tourist came with another female Japanese identified as Mayomi Someya, 30, from Kitakoiwa Edogmaku, Tokyo, to stay at the hotel on Thursday evening accompanied by a local male guest.
Someya then left with the local male companion who was waiting outside the hotel shortly after the Japanese females checked into their room.
The hotel staff then reported that around 2:30 am local time a male guest came to the hotel saying that he was a police officer seeking the Japanese guests. The hotel staff took the male guest to the room which then took Kasano out. The male returned at 3:30 am and took two bags from the hotel room booked by the Japanese tourists and left.
Head of the Crime and Detective Unit of the Denpasar Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Rendra Radita Dewayana said at the Sanglah Hospital, where the body was kept for autopsy said the case is being handled by his unit.
