TEMPO Interactive, Tangerang:The Soekarno Hatta Customs and Excise officials foiled the smuggling of 1.025 gram crystal methamphetamine carried by an Iran-national, identified by his initials AKS, who was arrested at Soekarno – Hatta Airport’s terminal II E. The drug was hidden inside a chess board. “He replaced the pawns with packets of crystal methamphetamine,” the Airport’s Customs and Excise chief in charge of Arrest and Investigation, Gatot Sugeng Wibowo told Tempo this morning.
AKS flew on a Dubai-Jakarta Emirate Airlines flight, arriving at Soekarno Hatta Airport on March 16, at 23.00. The middle-aged man’s behavior caught the official’s attention when he was walked across the X-Ray machine. The chess board inside his bag was opened and seven packets of crystal methamphetamine weighing 1.025 grams were found inside them. “The chess board had been hollowed and filled with the narcotics,” Gatot said.
