Police Confirm Link Between Jakarta Raid and Aceh Operation

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The national police confirmed the link between the terror raid in Jakarta this noon (9/3), with the extensive terror operation in Aceh starting last month.

Head of the anti terror unit the Special Detachment 88 Brigadier General Tito Karnavian said the raid at a store in Pamulang was related to an influential member of a terror network.

“The important member was the person who sent people to Aceh for a military training.” Tito told reporters at the National Police Headquarters in the capital. He added that the group rounded in Pamulang was related to the suspects caught at Mount Jalin, Aceh besar Regency late last month.

Police said one person was killed in the raid and two other were arrested.
