Sumitomo to Build Lahendong Power Plant in North Sulawesi

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: State-owned electricity company (PLN) has appointed Sumitomo as contractor for the Lahendong geothermal power plant project unit 4 in North Sulawesi.
“The project is part of the second phase of the 10,000-megawatt power plant acceleration program,” said PLN's Director of Planning and Technology, Bambang Praptono, yesterday (19/11).
He said that the contract between PLN and Sumitomo would be signed in 2010.
It is scheduled to complete the construction of this power plant with a capacity of 20 megawatts by 2012.
The construction will cost US$20 million. “It is being funded by the Asian Development Bank,” he said.
