Earthquake Hits Manokwari

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale hit Manokwari this morning (20/11).

According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the earthquake did not have the potential to create any tsunami waves.

The epicenter was 57 kilometers to the east of the Manokwari Sea, West Papua, at a depth of 10 kilometers.

The quake occurred at 6:7:31am (Indonesian western time), at a latitude of 0.81 degrees South and a longitude of 134.59 degrees East.
