Tuesday, 17 November, 2009 | 17:00 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:The state-owned shipping company Pelni sailed off today carrying a number of voluntary and general transmigrants from Tanjung Perak port, Surabaya, to Boalemo and Gorontalo regencies in North Sulawesi. The transmigrants come from East Java (380 people), Central Java (150 people) and Yogyakarta (110 people).

“All expenses are being borne by the government,” said Pelni manager for corporate relations, Edy Heryadi yesterday. Last year, Pelni transported 1.389 transmigrants off to Pontianak, Kendari, Ternate and other areas in eastern Indonesia.
