TEMPO Interactive, Tegal: The Metorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) of Tegal Station is predicting that waves on the Java Sea will be 2.5 meters high during the next four days.
The winds in Java, especially in the central and eastern parts, are moving to the east with speeds of between 10 and 20 knot.
“This is dangerous for small boats whose weight less than 30 gross tons,” said the BMKG's head, Sartono.
The waves has been reported high since yesterday.
Tegalsari harbor head, Budi Sudiyonodia, mentioned around 350 boats were likely still at sea.
He predicted that fishermen would stop for a while at certain islands in Java sea including Bawean Island in East Java, and Rakit Island in West Java.
