Finance Department to Give Incentives for High Achieving Regions

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Finance Department has decided to give incentives to 9 provinces, 45 regencies, and 28 cities that are high achieving.

“The incentives will be between Rp18 billion and Rp38 billion,” said the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati during the Stakeholder Gathering in Jakarta, on Monday (2/11).

Sri said that the regions were considered to be high achieving as they have fulfilled the criteria needed for good finance performance.

In addition, they are deemed have a good economy and welfare performance.

“They can increase their economic growth above the average of national growth,” she said.

The rewards were presented directly by the minister of finance.

The rewarded nine provinces include North Sumatra, North Sulawesi, Central Kalimantan, West Sumatra, East Java, Central Java, West Java, South Kalimantan, and the Riau Islands.

While the rewarded 17 regencies include Gresik, Badung, Sangihe, Sidoarjo, Bungi, Indragiri Hilir, Minahasa, Agam, Bekasi, Malinau, Tuban, Jombang, Karanganyar, Labuhan Batu, Aceh Besar, Sukabumi and Simalungun.

And the rewarded cities include Tangerang, Batam, Denpasar, Makassar, Jayapura, Kendari, Sorong, Banda Aceh, Depok, Gorontalo, Pekanbaru, Bitung, Bandar Lampung, Binjai, Sukabumi, Palu, Surabaya, Cilegon, Kotamobagu, Ternate, Kupang, Surakarta, Batu, Yogyakarta, Padang, Madiun, Bekasi, and Bandung.
