Attacks on New Cabinet Continue With A Delicate Issue

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The islamic-based United Development Party has shunned rumors of paedophile case against one of its members which was just being appointed to the cabinet, Suharso Monoarfa.

Suharso which was handed the post of Public Housing Minister refused to comment on the rumor on Thursday saying “I don't know about that (the rumor). The important thing is I did not do it.”

The former chairman of the budget committee during his previous term at the parliament has reportedly dealt with the Cambodian authority in 2005 for sexual harassment charge. A local human rights group LICADHO, reports said have filed the report.

Senior member of the United Developmnet Party Dimyati Natakusuma said the rumor will not be of his party concern before it could be proved, adding that the case would have been proceeded by the Cambodian government if the allegation was true.

Presidential spokesman Dinno Pati Djalal said the officials elected have underwent “tedious and credible” process which ensure their competence and integrity.
