West Java To Seek Aid From State and Private Companies

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: West Java Administration indicated on Tuesday that it is hoping that the government would pour down more relief aid taken from the Corporate Social Responsibility funds of state companies, to rebuild schools damaged by the 7.3 magnitude quake last week centered in the southern Java Sea.
Governor Ahmad Heryawan said he had spoke to the State Enterprises Minister which Ahmad said agreed with the idea of using corporate social responsibility fund. Heryawan said the assistance will not only come from state companies in the province but also from state corporations based in other region.
Report from the Coordinating and Executing Task Force of West Java Disaster Mitigation Agency showed about 1,100 schools and islamic schools were severely damaged. The regional mitigation center reported that the number of casualties was at 78, slightly lower than 79 reported by the National office of the Mitigation Disaster Agency. About 1,254 injured, 21 still missing, and 210,292 people took refuge at makeshift shelters.
About 63,717 houses reported with serious damages, 131,275 with minor damages, 2.010 mosques with severe damages, 1,888 others were lightly damaged, 234 public offices were heavily damaged and 275 others were lightly damaged.
Ahmad also said to seek help from private business beside relying on governmnet's aid.
