Victims of Lapindo Mudflow to Meet Aburizal Bakrie

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: A total of 18 people representing victims of the Lapindo mudflows are scheduled to meet Aburizal Bakrie on September 9.

“We are grateful that the settlement is being carried out well,” said Khoirul Huda, joint secretary of the mudflow victims.

However, Huda acknowledged that some people were not satisfied, but only a few.

Subiyanto, one of representatives, said that the mudflow case was influenced too much by political matters.

He said that the meeting was only to thank the Bakrie family.

Meanwhile, Aburizal Bakrie stated that the meeting had no connection with his candidacy as Golkar Party Chairman.
