Seven Killed in Southern Bandung

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Another report of casualties from the southern Java sea earthquake emerged from West Java as seven residents of Pengalengan Subdistrict in south of Bandung was killed by rubbles, and about 30 others were injured.
Houses in about 13 villages in the Pengalengan Subdistrict were devastated by the quake. Head of the Pengalengan Subdistrictharis Taufik said on Wednesday that four of his residents died in the earthquake, number rose to seven hours after the first report.
Local authorities have set up tents for refugees in fear that aftershocks would worsen the damages and as the earthquake has cut down electricity.
Local authority could not confirm the number of damaged houses although head of the subdistrict did not rule out that the number could reach over a hundred.
