Twelve People Killed By Crumbling Cliff

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The 7.3 magnitude earthquake in the West Java part of southern Java sea, has tore down a rock cliff in Cianjur West Java, about 300 kilometer northwest of Tasikmalaya, killing 12 people and crushing 11 houses.
Twelve bodies had been recovered from site of the tumbled cliff in Cikangkareng village in Cibinong Subdistrict as of 6 pm local time and search continue for the remaining missing people.
Head of the Cibinong Precinct Police Adjutant Senior Commissiner Iwan authorities prohibited female and children near the disaster scene and ordered their evacuation to a safer area.
Authorities seek support from adult male resident to search for the missing victims, and is preparing for a further slide as rescuers spotted cracks on the cliff.
Cianjur was located about 60 kilometers East of Bandung which is located about 105 kilometer south-southwest of the epicenter of the quake.
