Seven ASEAN Nations to Join Batam Expo

TEMPO Interactive, Batam: The Batam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) is holding the 2009 Batam Expo that will be attended by 7 of the 10 member countries in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

This event promotes products from these countries and the Batam Visit year 2010 program.


Batam Expo is also being attended by 22 provinces in the country. “This is our chance to introduce our products,” the head of Batam Kadin, Nada Fara Soraya, told Tempo via phone, Thursday (30/7).

A similar event was held in 2007 and successfully made a turnover of Rp800 billion. Nada believes that the event this year can turnover more than Rp1 trillion.
