TEMPO Interactive, Wajo: The Indonesian subsidiary of Alstom Power Energy Systems announced its interest in taking part in the second phase of the 10,000 megawatt power plant projects. The company’s country president, Edward Thiessen, said on Thursday during a bridge launching ceremony in South Sulawesi, “We are interested in the second phase of the 10,000 megawatt project, and ready to build a more technologically efficient power plant.”
The first phase of the project was awarded to Chinese contractors as they were the only contractors willing to work without a government guarantee.
Edward said his company was prepared to provide the infrastructure and capacity so long as the government could provide the guarantees.
He said Alstom was capable of building a more efficient power plant like those used in the United States. The company currently runs a 700 megawatt boiler type, super critical electricity generator in Surabaya.
