Thousands of Indonesians in Germany to Vote via Airmail

TEMPO Interactive, Berlin: Most Indonesians in Berlin will vote in the presidential election on July 8 through airmail. Some of them can come directly to the overseas voting station in Berlin.
Head of the committee organizing voting management (PPLN) in Berlin, Romy Hermawan, said that the committee has sent ballots to more than 1,000 Indonesians.
“495 people are confirmed to come directly to the voting station, while the remaining 1,044 people will vote through airmail,” said Romy through an email to Tempo, on Wednesday (1/7).
Romy said that the committee has identified 1,503 voters in Berlin while the total of Indonesians living in Germany is around 11,000 people.
He said the socialization for the presidential election has been held in several areas including Dresden, Magdeburg, and Berlin.
The voters are asked to return their ballots at least one day after the election day.
