Trade Ministry: Sugar Price To Decrease Next Month

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Trade minister said on Tuesday (23/6) sugar price is expected to decrease in July during the harvest season of sugar cane.

Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said on Tuesday (23/6), the current level for sugar price at farmers' level was Rp5,300 per kilogram, around Rp7,500 at factory level, and Rp 8,500 at consumers level.

Average price of sugar rose Rp 6 per kilogram on Tuesday (23/6) to Rp 8,592 per kilogram from a day earlier of Rp 8,586. Average price per kilogram in June was Rp 149 higher than the average price in May recorded at Rp 8.406.
