Former Members of GAM Request Involvement in Aceh Reconstruction

TEMPO Interactive, Banda Aceh: Former members of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) that are united under the Aceh Transformation Committee (KPA) urged the government to involve them in forming the Aceh Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Coordinating Board (BKKRR).

BKKR is to replace the Aceh Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Board (BRR) when its period ends by April 2009.

KPA's spokesperson Ibrahim Syamsuddin said yesterday that according to the Helsinki peace agreement, after the tsunami, former GAM members can be involved in Aceh’s development.
