Regional Government Distribute Aid For Quake Victims

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Regional Office of Social Ministry in Gorontalo Province distributed relieve aid for quake victims in Northern Gorontalo Regency on Wednesday, three days after the 7,7 magnitude quake struck the region.
Head of the regional office Abdul Kadir Ilahude said the relieve aid worth Rp 200 million, but did not specify on the items included in the aids.
A temporary data from regional authorities as of Wednesday showed 10 houses were levelled and around 600 others were damaged. Twelve churces, 10 mosques, three school buildings, one clinic, one government building, and one bridge were also damaged.
One people killed in the Gorontalo, but in the adjoining province of Central Sulawesi three were killed by the quake centered closer Central Sulawesi. Regional officials were assisting the head of the National Agency for Disaster Mitigation Syamsul Ma'arif in visiting the worst hit area of Sumalata and Tolinggula subregency at the western border the province with Central Sulawesi.
The 7,7 quake on Monday occurred minutes after midnight on Sunday apparently inflicted worse damages and more casualties in Central Sulawesi Province.
