Bugis-Makassar Business Motivators Receive Award

TEMPO Interactive, Makassar:Seven motivators of the Bugis-Makassar Business Association received awards yesterday in Makassar for bringing together all Bugis and Makassar business people, both who live in their home towns or outside.

The seven motivators are Ret. Gen. M. Yusuf, Vice-President, Drs H. Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, Prof. Dr. Beddu Amang, Ret. Maj. Gen. Zainal Basri Palaguna, Aksa Mahmud, Alwi Hamu and H.M. Thaha.

They were honored by the South Sulawesi Community, the South Sulawesi Provincial Government and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KADIN) during the 10th Meeting of Business People at the Celebes Convention Center yesterday.

The award was a book of profiling the business people of Bugis – Makassar origin. Organizing committee member, Alwi Hamu said the meeting, which has been held annually for the last few years, is an event that is much anticipated by the Bugis–Makassar business community, especially those who settle outside their home lands. “This meeting serves as a good social gathering,” Alwi said.
