Funding Assistance for Small Cigarette Manufacturers

TEMPO Interactive, Banyuwangi: The Industry and Trade Regional Office for Banyuwangi will provide funding assistance to 11 out of 20 small cigarette manufacturers amounting to Rp250 million.

The assistance is to help them improve quality in order to be able to compete in the market.

Nyoman Widiratyasa from the Banyuwangi Industry and Trade Regional Office said that these 11 cigarette manufacturers only produce when there is a demand.

“Sometimes they only produce once a year,” he said yesterday (21/9).

Their total production is less than 2.16 million cigarettes and these are marketed in Central Java and West Java.

The assistance will be used to hold training sessions for producing better quality cigarettes, to update production equipment and to improve management quality.
