Wednesday, 17 September, 2008 | 13:39 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Corruption Eradication Commission has named Mohammad Iqbal, member of the Business Competition Supervisory Commission and Billy Sindoro President Director of First Media as suspects for bribery less than a day after the arrest was made on them.

Muhammad Iqbal will be detained at Central Jakarta Ressort Police, while Billy will be detained at West Jakarta Ressort Police, both will be under police custody for 20 days.

The anti-graft commission also caught three other persons in the arrest and yet to determine their status.

In a press conference on the arrest, Deputy Head of the anti-corruption commission Chandra M. Hamzah linked the bribery with a broadcasting rights disppute which is being handled by the business competition commission.

Astro TV a cable TV network which 80 per cent of its shares were controlled by First Media held the rights to broadcast last season's English Premier League matches in Indonesia. PT Indosat Mega Media, PT Indonesia Telemedia, dan PT MNC Sky Network filed complains on the monopoly to the competition commission.
