TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Secretary of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Yasin Kara said that PAN will ask the government for an explanation about their plan to increase the fuel price.
“The government should be transparent with the budget,” he said to Tempo, Thursday (16/5). He continued that it should be explained in the consultation meeting with the DPR. “So it will be clear,” he said.
According to him, the government should have a clear concept about the state budget, and not increase it every time there is a fuel price rise.
Yasin expects the government to prepare other alternatives to overcome the world oil price. “The government's policy should be on the side of the poor ” he said.
He asks that the subsidy be allocated for the sector of agricultural production and food security. “This is to secure people's lives.”
The PAN faction does not know yet whether they need an interpellation or not. They will hear the government's explanation first.
