Former Ambassador Arrested

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Commission to Eradicate Corruption (KPK) arrested former Indonesian ambassador for Singapore Muhammad Slamet Hidayat last night and former treasurer of the embassy Erizal, tied to the case of the markup for renovation of the embassy, worth Sin $3.2 million.
According to KPK Deputy Chairman for Taking Measures Bibit Samad Riyanto, they did not use the tender system for the renovation project. There is a Sin$1,134 million difference in the report. “The Ambassador then told them to distribute that money,” said Bibit.
