TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Chief of the Indonesian Police is linked with the Australia Federal Police to investigate 600 kilograms of Crystal Methamphetamine that was uncovered in Pantai Indah Kapuk last Wednesday. The partnership is aimed at finding out which countries produce crystal methamphetamine.
“Tomorrow morning, 10 Australian police will take a sample in the regional police office,” said Indradi Thanos, Director for Narcotics and Dangerous Substances at the National Police Office, yesterday.
According to Thanos, the sample will not only be from Pantai Indah Kapuk but also from substances found in the Taman Anggrek Apartment and Tanjung Priok.
Thanos said cooperation with Australian police has been done because their reference laboratory has a database on drugs and its country-based producer. “To verify the producer, the drug has to be tested in the Australian reference laboratory,” he said.
Commissioner Arman Depari, director of Narcotics and Dangerous Substances Regional Police Office, stated the 600 kilograms of Crystal Metha in Pantai Indah Kapuk North Jakarta, came from China, Guangdong. “It is possible that the drug is being produced on the boat,” he said.
Up to now, police have arrested seven suspects including two Indonesians and five Chinese. Police are still hunting for Mr. Lee, leader of Crystal Meth in Jakarta.
Mr. Lee, a Chinese citizen, probably is in his country. The Regional Police of Metro Jaya has submitted his data to NCB Interpol of the Indonesian Police with the expectation that Chinese police can arrest him immediately.
