TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf is visiting Indonesia by chance.
It is planned that today (01/31) President Yudhoyono and President Musharraf will conduct a special dialog to discuss matters on Middle East conflicts at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta.
“We were only given the plan some days ago,” said presidential spokesperson Dino Patti Djalal yesterday (01/30) at the Presidential office.
Musharraf arrived in Jakarta yesterday night and will leave Halim Perdanakusuma today at 3.30pm.
After visiting Indonesia, it is planned that Musharraf will be heading to Malaysia.
Before arriving in Indonesia, said Dino, Musharraf had visited Middle East countries: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and United Arab Emirates.
The sudden meeting between President Yudhoyono and President Musharraf, Dino continued, is being conducted since the situation in Middle East has degraded significantly.
Meanwhile, in Lebanon, the political upheaval is still continuing although it is now quite under control.
“The conflicts in the Middle East keep escalating,” he said.
