Adam Air Plane Not Yet Found

TEMPO Interactive, Makassar: The location of where the Adam Air plane fell still remains a mystery.
Up until last night (2/1), the joint Search & Rescue (SAR) Team heading up to the Matanga hills, Polewali Mandar, West Sulawesi, had not found the plane, flight number DHI 574.
Lieutenant Colonel Amsal, Head of Information at the Wirabuana Military Command Area VII, said he had received information from the SAR team that went to the location.
However, the joint SAR team, consisting of personnel from the Indonesian Military (TNI) and the police as well as several regional leaders and residents, has not yet found the plane in the location as previously reported.
“The information was actually false. The team has explored the hills but did not find the plane,” said Amsal when met in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Tuesday night (2/1).
First Marshall Eddy Suyanto, Commander of the Hasanuddin Air Force Base, confirmed that the plane had not yet been found.
According to him, initial information regarding the number of victims and the location where the aircraft fell was from residents.
However, he said, after the location was checked, the information was found to be wrong.
Eddy promised he will continue searching at locations alleged to be the where the plane fell: Majene waterways, West Sulawesi; Matanga hills and Rantepao, Tana Toraja.
Last night, the SAR team could not continue searching because of the weather, however the search continued this morning.
