TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has limited the time for Amrozi, Imam Samudra and Ali Ghufron to propose a review until the end of the year. “If they do not propose a review on time, we will process the execution for the three of them,” said Attorney General Abdul Rahman Saleh at the AGO, Tuesday (11/7).
Arman—Abdul Rahman Saleh's nickname—has asked that the District Attorney's Office of Denpasar to monitor the District Court of Denpasar where Amrozi and associates may propose a review. According to Arman, Amrozi and associates they have stretched the execution time out. “No convicts can arrange execution time,” said Arman.
The Muslim Defenders Team, lawyers of Amrozi , have previously said that their clients will propose a review next year. They said that the proposal was not an attempt to delay the execution time. “In fact, it is the AGO that intentionally accelerates time to kill people,” said lawyer Wirawan Adnan at the AGO, Friday (11/3).
Amrozi, Imam Samudra and Ali Ghufron were sentenced to death after being proved guilty of being involved in the Bali Bombing I case at Legian, Bali, on 12 October 2002. At least 200 people died in the explosion. The execution of the three convicts was delayed once from the initial schedule on 24 August of this year because they had planned to propose a review to the Supreme Court.
