TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Investigation Team of the Criminal Investigation Squad from the Indonesian Police Headquarters has failed to find Imam Samudra's laptop.
It was suspected that a laptop was being used for chatting through the Internet with the Bali Bombing II perpetrators when Imam was detained in the Kerobokan Prison at Denpasar, Bali.
An official at the Criminal Investigation Squad of the Indonesian Police said that police were forced to make a goods search list to complete the file of Imam's laptop case when he was at Kerobokan.
With the list, the case can be handed over to court.
“The police also have other evidence such statements made by a guard and a courier as well as chatting evidence,” he told reporters yesterday (11/1) after transferring command of Chief of Bali Police Department at the Indonesian Police Headquarters, Jakarta.
Chief Commissioner Bambang Kuncoko, spokesperson for the Indonesian Police, acknowledged that up until now police have not yet found Imam Samudra's laptop.
Nevertheless, this does not mean that the police have failed in their investigation of the case.
“Investigators are continuing to search for the laptop,” Bambang told reporters yesterday (11/1).
