Indonesia Regrets Israel's Hostage-Taking of Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Indonesian government regrets that Israel kidnapped Nasir Shaer, the Palestinian Deputy Prime Minister, as hostage. “We're sorry for and regret Israel's act,” said Jusuf Kalla in his press statement today.
Kalla said that the hostage-taking by Israel was extremely inappropriate. Indonesia, he said, protests the cruel act and gives its support to Palestine.
Indonesia, he added, asks that both Israel and Palestine truly are committed to create peace. “Both sides must have a will for peace. If they don’t, the problem won't end,” he said.
