PT Dirgantara Indonesia’s Trade Union Demonstrates

TEMPO Interactive, Bandung: Members of the Workers Communication Forum Trade Union of PT Dirgantara Indonesia demonstrated at the front gate of the Gedung Sate building in Bandung today (28/6).

They were demanding that the government keep its promise of paying discharged workers' their severance pay by 30 June this year at the latest.

“It has been 91 days since the government made this promise, but nothing has happened yet,” said Sidarta, spokesperson of the trade union.

On 29 March this year, the former workers of PT Dirgantara Indonesia signed an agreement with the company's managers at the Department of State-Owned Enterprises.

The management promised to pay the workers their pension rights.

Funds to be used for the agreed payment are to be withdrawn from the remainder of guarantee funds of Rp40 billion.
