Malindo to Focus on Border Area Security

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Indonesian Army and the Malaysian Army will carry out joint training exercises again.
The Malaysian-Indonesian military joint training, referred to as Malindo, is focused on securing border areaa between the two countries in Kalimantan.
“The implementation is how the two countries agree, coordinate and operate together in terms of the border areas between them,” said TNI Commander Marshal Djoko Suyanto after opening the joint training at the Infantry Division Headquarters in Cilodong yesterday (27/6).
In addition, both countries’ military personnel, amounting to 4,492 soldiers, will be trained to handle illegal logging and terrorism.
“That's why the training also involves the polices of the two countries.”
