TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Aburizal Bakrie, Coordinating Minister for People's Welfare, has asked the House of Representatives (DPR) to disburse the remainder of the disaster mitigation fund soon.
Aburizal said there were still Rp200 billion of the disaster mitigation fund remaining.
The request is related to the many disasters that have occurred recently.
Aburizal acknowledged that the fund was almost depleted.
So, in addition to asking the remainder of the disaster mitigation fund to be disbursed, he also asked for additional funds amounting to Rp1.7 trillion for this year.
“This is only to cover the costs of the disasters that have already happened, excluding those in Yogyakarta and Sinjai (South Sulawesi). So the total will be Rp2 trillion,” said Aburizal, during a closed meeting in the presidential office, Jakarta, today (22/6).
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani, after a cabinet session yesterday said that the government would increase the disaster mitigation fund by Rp500 billion for all od Indonesia this year.
