People of Nias Complained about the BRR

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Elements of the general public of Nias and South Nias conveyed complaints to DPR leaders yesterday (20/6).

They reported that in their area many victims of tsunami are still living in tents.

“This is because, a lot of houses that have been built by the BRR (Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Agency) are not suitable dwellings, they were built without foundations and (the roofs) are leaking,” said Alio Zisekhi when welcomed by DPR Deputy Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar.

They also asked that some of the projects by BRR be transferred to contractors from Nias.

Muhaimin promised that he would study the complaints and demands.
