TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Bert Nordberg, Executive Vice President of the Ericsson Group for Sales & Marketing, is optimistic that Ericsson will be able to maintain its 30 percent cellular phone network market segment throughout the world.
This optimism was expressed in response to Nokia and Siemens’ merger a few days ago.
”Although Nokia and Siemens are joining together, Ericsson’s total amount of mobile network sales is still large,” said Nordberg during the CommunicAsia communication exhibition in Singapore, today (21/6).
Ericsson had prepared strategies prior to Nokia and Siemens’ merger.
Currently, Nordberg said, now Ericsson is supported by 21,000 professional workers in 140 countries.
“We can depend on them to give telecommunication services: managed, support, and integration system,” he said.
Nordberg went on to say several countries are the main target of Ericsson’s product sales increase and these are in the Asia Pacific region and Africa.
“In 2007, it is estimated that there will be more than three billion cellular phone subscribers in the world,” said Nordberg.
