Dirgantara to Work on Skytruck Airplane’s Local Contents

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: PLZ Mielec Polandia is to give airplane manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia three to percent of the value of a contract to process local contents.
This agreement is part of a defense memorandum of understanding between Indonesia and Poland that will be signed by both countries’ ministers of defense at the Ministry of Defense, on Tuesday (6/6) morning.
“However, both the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Ministry of Defense have asked for a renegotiation of the local contents portion that can be produced by PT Dirgantara to obtain a final agreement,” said Brigadier General Edy Butar Butar, Head of the Public Relations Bureau at the Department of Defense.
The request for a local content assignment to PT Dirgantara is connected with the supply of 10 PLZ M28 Skytruck airplanes from Poland.
“Technically, these planes have been tested and the product (Skytruck) has long been utilized,” said Rear Admiral Abdul Malik Yusuf after a press conference at the Reporter’s Hall, Cilangkap, on Sunday (5/6).
Malik also stated that these planes will be operated as above water detectors.
Regarding the chose of Poland in supplying Skytruck, Malik said, there were many evaluations to be done.
“One of these is concerning price,” he explained.
According to Malik, the Department of Defense will arrange the allocation of these 10 planes.
“It will be arranged shortly,” he said.
