Christian Parties Merge

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Several Christian parties have agreed to be merged into one nationalistic party for the 2009 General Election.

“The declaration of unanimous intension to merge will be carried out on May 31 at Gedung Joeang 45 (Jakarta),” Gregorius Seto Harianto, Chairman of the Democratic Love the Nation Party (PDKB), told Tempo yesterday (28/5).

According to Seto, the Christian parties which have agreed to merge include the Democratic Care of the Nation Party PDKB, the Christian Democratic Party (PDK), the Indonesian Democratic Cayholic Party (PKDI), the Socialist Christian Party (PKS), the Compassion and Love Party (PAK) and the Indonesian Christian 45 Party (PKI 45).

As regardd the merger and its format, Seto said, this is still being discussed up to now.
