Batavia Aircraft Skids on Runway

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: A Batavia aircraft, flight number 7P843, headed for Ujung Pandang and Merauke, skidded on the north runway of Soekarno-Hatta Airport this morning at 5.30am WIB (Western Indonesian Time).

Four people were injured. One is a Provincial Legislative Council member (DPRD) from West Irian Jaya, Ishak Madessa, 51. He was hurt in his right leg and shinbone.

All the injured passengers were taken to Sentra Medika Clinic at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. The other passengers were evacuated by airport security.

The Boeing 737-200 plane carried 127 passengers.
