Bagir Manan to Lead Supreme Court Again

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: Supreme Court Chief Justice, Bagir Manan, has been re-elected to his previous position.

In the Supreme Court chief justice election held yesterday (2/5), Bagir Manan won unanimously.

From the voting result, Bagir obtained 44 votes out of 48 votes of Supreme Court judges who were eligible to elect the Supreme Court chief justice.

Supreme Court Judge Gunanto Suryono received two votes. Supreme Court Judge Paulus Effendi Lotulung one vote, and a single vote was rules invalid.

After the election, Bagir Manan thanked the Supreme Court judges who still believed in him to be the Supreme Court Chief Justice.

“I realize I'm not the best, but I will work the best that I can,” he said.

Bagir admitted there are still many tasks to complete, especially pending cases and organization consolidation, in accordance with the Supreme Court's blueprint.
