TEMPO Interactive, Abu Dhabi: President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had said that revitalization in representatives abroad, especially in the Middle East, is necessary.
This revitalization is in regard to the improvement of trade and investment relations pioneered by the President during his visits to five Middle Eastern countries since Tuesday last week.
“In the past, political diplomacy was more aimed towards the future. Now the role is wider, including economic cooperation improvements,” said the President answering the press at the Emirates Hotel, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, yesterday (2/5).
The president has acknowledged having assigned Foreign Affairs Minister, Nur Hassan Wirayuda, for restructuring the composition, capacity, and appointing of ambassadors and consulate generals by additional criteria determination.
An ambassador or a consulate general, according to the President, must be energetic, smart in looking for new opportunities, and innovative.
