DPR To Discuss 29 Bills

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The House of Representatives (DPR) plans to discuss and conclude 29 bills in the fourth meeting period.
“The 29 bills are parts of the 58 bills which are now in the process of first-level discussion,” said DPR Chairman, Agung Laksono in his speech in the opening plenary meeting of the fourth meeting period, yesterday.
Twenty-three out of those twenty-nine bills come from the government, and the remainder from the DPR. In detail, the bills comprise 19 bills on politics, the economy and finance, nine bills on industry, trade and development, and one bill on welfare. “So there are 15 bills handled by the Budget Commission and the Budget Committee, and 14 bills supervised by the Special Committee,” said Agung.
Agung also conveyed the fact that the Government Commission has inventoried 18 bills of Regional Expansion, and 11 of them have met the requirements to be discussed.
In addition, there are four bills of regional expansion which have been standardized by the Legislation Board, three of them are the bill of Aceh Leuser Antara Province Formation, the bill of Southwest Aceh, and the bill of Dogiai and Puncak and Papua.
