BRR to Decentralize

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Aceh-Nias Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Agency (BRR) will decentralize to increase coordination and efficiency in Aceh-Nias reconstruction and rehabilitation.

“Now the center is in Banda Aceh. Later, there will be an office in every region so that it can coordinate with the provincial government and NGOs,” explained BRR public relations officer, Pratiwi Ibnu Tadji to Tempo at her office, yesterday.

“The development was started at the beginning of this year; now it’s at the stage of setting-up of the offices,” she continued.

This step, said Pratiwi, is a result of the technical meeting preparing to hold the second Coordination Forum for Aceh and Nias/CFAN. The forum will be held on May 9 in Jakarta. According to plan, it will be attended by 17 ministers, BRR, Aceh and Nias provincial governments, and representatives from the parties.
