TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Democrat Party faction is making every effort for a reshuffle of the House of Representatives (DPR) head. “I think the composition of the House leader should be according to the proportional system,” said Boy W. Saul, the Deputy Secretary of the Democrat Party faction at the parliament complex yesterday.
The Democrat Party is the fourth seat among the factions that it is suitable to appoint a representative as the DPR deputy chairman. “That's why we propose to change the DPR rules, and to reshuffle the composition in the next plenary session,” he said.
He said these proposals have been discussed with several factions, among them the United Development Party (PPP) and National Mandate Party (PAN). “PPP deserves to have a chair in the DPR since it is in third place ,” he said. He pointed out that PAN is in fifth place.
Regarding the rules change, he said, it will be proposed to add to the number of deputy leaders in the composition to become four persons. According to Boy, the faction Chairman, Sukartono Hadiwarsito, and the Chairman for the Government Commission, E.E. Mangindaan, are suitable to be candidates for DPR leaders.
