World Bank Urges Indonesia to Eradicate Corruption

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The World Bank will urge the Indonesian government to eradicate corruption, especially in the projects funded by this organization.
“I will convey this support to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the meeting tomorrow (today),” said Paul Wolfowitz, the World Bank President, after arriving at Halim Perdanakusuma airport, Jakarta, last night.
He was welcomed by the Secretary-General of the Finance Department, J.B. Kristiadi and World Bank Head Representative for Indonesia, Andrew Steer.
This effort, he said, is a World Bank measure to generate the growth of the investment atmosphere in Indonesia.
Wolfowitz will also visit the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to confirm the World Bank’s seriousness in eradicating corruption.
“We will embark on a new big effort with KPK to eradicate corruption, ” he said
