Joint Religious and Cultural Meeting

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The Solo Tourism, Art, and Culture Authority has taken the initiative of inviting leading figures from several countries to a world joint- religious and cultural meeting with the theme of “World Meditation Gathering”.

The event will be held for five days between April 9 and April 13, in Solo, Central Java.

“We invited people from at least six countries,” said Febriana Roekmini, Chairman of the Solo Municipal Tourism, Art, and Culture Authority, on Sunday (2/4).
Religious and cultural figures invited include Kusumanita Pedersen (Board of Directors of the Parliament of World Religions), Emily Chou (Taiwan), Elisabeth Inandiak (France), Akio Matsumura (New York), Roshi Jian Halifax (New Mexico), Rolph Hernandez (Montreal, Canada) and Dr Harald Baloch (Austria).

In addition, representatives from Dharma Nature Time, Parliament of World Religions and Inter Religious and Intercultural Organization networks have also been invited.

From Indonesia, those invited include Mustofa Bisri (Rembang), Biku Sri Panyawaro (Borobudur), Anand Krisna (Jakarta), Arifin Ilham (Jakarta) and Bedanda Ida Arimbawa (Bali).

“Many programs including collective prayers, ritual performances, art seminars, meditation workshops and meditative art exhibitions will be part of the World Meditation Gathering,” said Febriana.
