Anti-Cepu Block Movement Gains New Ammunition

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta: The People’s Cepu Block Reservation Movement has gained the support of members of the People’s Anti-colonialism Movement.

“We need to make people aware that Indonesia is now being colonized by foreigners,” said the Coordinator of the Mudzakir Islamic Scholars Movement at the parliamentary complex, on Tuesday (4/4).

The members of the movement were received by the coordinator of the People’s Cepu Block Reservation Movement, who is also a member of the Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD).

This administrator of the Al Islam Kebumen Boarding School, Yogyakarta, said that political parties, especially Islamic parties, should have realized this.

However, he said he was aware that currently it was easy for parties to be lobbied by the government and foreign parties.

“They refuse in the morning, but then have dinner with them in the evening,” he said after the meeting.

He stated that at the moment political parties do not concern themselves in such matters.

“If their stomachs are full, it’s difficult to say no,” he said smiling.
