President: Don’t Be Quick to Blame Others
Friday, 09 December, 2005 | 20:30 WIB

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has said that in facing the various problems and difficulties in the country at the moment, people should not be pessimistic, give up and be quick to blame others.

He realized that there were some members of the general public who were still pessimistic.

“Every day, they still blame other people,” stated Yudhoyono at the State Palace on Thursday (08/12).

According to the President, the public must be made aware that currently this country is in a relatively difficult situation.

“In this state of affairs, everyone must think and try to do something to settle the situation,” stated Yudhoyono.

Yudhoyono cited as examples other countries that have experienced similar economic difficulties following increases in global oil prices.

However, the general public in these countries were very busy carrying out campaigns to save energy.

Therefore, the President said he hoped that the Indonesian people would act in a similar manner, participating in settling various problems.

Yudhoyono also asked people to increase their love for Indonesia because this country belongs to all the people of Indonesia rather than to individuals.

“We will not get anything if we just keep admiring the progress of other countries and see the negative sides of Indonesia,” stated the President.
