BIN: Terrorists in Indonesia Receive US$75,000

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:State Intelligence Agency (BIN) head Syamsir Siregar said that the terrorists in Indonesia once received funds amounting to US$75,000, the largest received yet by the group. “Some funds came from abroad, but they were usually delivered by individuals.
The funds were sent by a courier to the terrorist group. “If there is a target, they will deliver funds based on their calculation. The delivery is per case,” stated Siregar.
According to House of Representatives (DPR) Commission I member from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) Effendi MS Simbolon, the BIN has long detected the cash flow from foreign countries to the terrorist group, including the involvement of the terrorist group in some activities in Afghanistan. “The BIN has had the proof, including receipts and passports. The data is complete,” stated Simbolon.
However, the data only adds up to a stack of documentation because the BIN has no authority in gaining information gathered by these people. “The BIN can not follow up every piece of information that it has obtained because they have no authority on this matter,” stated Simbolon.(Sunariah-Tempo News Room)
