Terrorist Group Assumed to Be Planning Christmas Terror

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:It is suspected that a house at Flamboyan Indah housing estate Block A Number 7 was rented by the group of Dr. Azahari in preparation for acts of terror this coming Christmas.

According to a source that is close to Indonesian intelligence, this group was planning to bomb several churches in Malang and nearby areas on Christmas Eve.

“The targets were major churches in Malang,” this source told Tempo.

The group had equipped itself with sophisticated weapons with silencers.

This was noticeable when the shooting incident took place between the group and the police, the shots were not too loud.

“The sound was smooth as if the weapons were installed with silencers. Meanwhile, the police weapons sound very loud,” said this source.

The suspicion that the terrorist group was planning acts of terror action was supported by testimony by Anil Warman (19), whose house was only 10 meters from the house rented by the group.

According to Warman, on Saturday night (5/11), two of the people from the rented house arrived on a Honda Supra motorcycle and carried in a 14-inch television cardboard box.
