Defense Minister: Only 10 TNI Businesses to be Transferred

TEMPO Interactive, Jakarta:Indonesian defense minister Juwono Sudarsono has said that only ten Indonesian Military (TNI) businesses units would be transferred to the state out of 219 TNI businesses that have been inventoried.
“Only 10 businesses meet the capital and management criteria. These have assets in excess of Rp25 billion. The remainder tend to have social missions,” stated Sudarsono at his residence in Jakarta on Wednesday (19/10).
Previously, the defense minister held a coordination meeting with Minister of Justice and Human Rights Hamid Awaluddin, Secretary of State Minister for State-Owned Enterprises Muhammad Said Didu and representatives of the finance department.
The meeting, which started at 10am and lasted two hours, was held at the defense department and aimed at discussing the arrangements and technicalities involved in transferring TNI businesses to the state.
During the meeting, it was agreed that a verification team be set up involving four departments.
It was also agreed that Dana Reksa and PT Bahana be appointed to establish the guidelines for a presidential regulation regarding the arrangement of TNI businesses.
Sudarsono said that the team has planned to settle the arrangement of these TNI businesses within three months.
The ten businesses might become a public company (Perum), a limitedcCompany (PT) or s holding company.
